METHODIST CHURCH NIGERIA
Crisis that hit Methodist Church Nigeria in 1983 group about five churches under the Special Area. These were Methodist Church Nigeria: - Abule Ijesa, Abule Oja, Bashua, Folami and Igbobi. The first three opted out and joined Presidential while Igbobi and Folami decided to join the Patriarchate and remained until end of Crisis. Igbobi Folami special Area was blessed with a resident Minister in 1984 in the person of Revd. J. O. Amoran (Late). When he look over the Pastoral care of the two local Churches, the special Area had only five fully accredited Lay Preachers. He started training members for the Preaching Ministry in earnest. He was found in all applicable areas such as Sunday School, Youth , Men, Women Fellowship, Choir and Brigades much so that the Special Area became a house hold name in the then Diocese of Lagos. The Special Area excelled in Competitions and in fulfillment of financial obligation to the Diocese.
The Late Revd. Amoran will ever be remembered for his gift of prayerful visitation to members .When he retired in 1992, the Special Area that initially had five accredited lay Preachers could boast of eighteen fully accredited Lay Preachers, males and females.

IGBOBI-FOLAMI CIRCUIT
The Mantle of Leadership changed from the Revd. Amoran to a much young and dynamic Minister in the person of Revd. E. E Iyang (now a Presbyter). Elder A .J. Inyang worked briefly with him as Senior Special Area Steward having served much of his term with Late Rev. Amoran.
On 17th February 1995, Igbobi Folami joint Leaders’ meeting held at Folami Local Church by a unanimous vote requested to be upgraded to Circuit Status. After due processing of her request by the Diocese Synod, Arch-Diocese Council and the Otukpo Conference, the Special Area was approved to be upgraded to a Circuit Status and was inaugurated on Sunday March 31st 1996 .
It is about twelve years now and the Circuit is so grateful to God. The last eleven years witnessed tremendous growth of the Circuit in all spheres of Church activities. At the inauguration, Elder J. C. T. Ogbujah was installed the first Senior Circuit Steward as Elder A. J. Inyang relinquished the office of Senior Special Area Steward to him in 1994. Elder J. C. T. Ogbujah worked with Revd. Inyang till the Latter was transferred. The Revd. T. A. Ogbonnaya came to the Circuit briefly for one year (1999). By year 2000, the Revd. V. M. Atigbo (now a Presbyter) replaced Revd. Ogbonnaya while Elder U. H. Ekpo replaced Elder J. C. T. Ogbujah as Senior Circuit Steward after the latter had completed two terms of three years each.
By year 2003, the Revd. M. A. Ekpoataha came to replace the Revd. Victor M. Atigbo with Elder U. H. Ekpo as Senior Circuit Steward. By year 2006, Elder S. N. Ikwuagwu succeeded Elder U. H. Ekpo after he had served two terms consequently. Within these years there had been very remarkable progress in the Circuit. One of the most outstanding achievements was the building of new modern Church at both Igbobi and Folami.
To God be the Glory commemoration of the opening and dedication of Igbobi Church was done by the Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence (Dr) Sunday C. Mbang CON on Sunday June 18, 2006. Folami’s ultra modern Church is awaiting finishing touches. The Preaching Station that was planted at No. 36, Demurin Street Ketu on January 30, 2000 through the assistance of Mrs. Onanuga the owner of the School who willingly and graciously allowed the use of the school for divine services had been upgraded to a Local Church.
Evangelist N. T. Umoinyang (now a Revd.) was appointed as Evangelist stationed to over- see the Church. The Circuit celebrated her tenth year anniversary on Sunday May 14th, 2006.
It has been quite remarkable for example, the Circuit has produced thirty fully accredited Lay Preachers; eleven Lay Preachers on trial; Six Evangelists receiving training at the Wesley School of Discipleship, Yaba; three Evangelists on Ministerial training at Shagamu as tent making Ministers.
The Circuit is blessed with two resident Ministers and a resident Deaconess namely, Revd. M. A. Ekpoataha - Stationed in Igbobi, Revd. Godwin C. Onovo - stationed at Folami Church, Deaconess Aniema E. Akpan - stationed at Ketu Church. The Revd. Monday A. Ekpoataha is the Circuit Priest in Charge.
The Circuit has forwarded the names of her members in the person of Elder A. J. Inyang and Elder J. C. T. Ogbujah for Conference Award.
